What’s a party without invitations? A meeting? I don’t know. But if you aren’t aware by now of my love for paper products and stationery get out. I’m just kidding…kinda. but I mean I created a whole business that revolves around stationery, and I created invitations for my Grandparent’s surprise Anniversary party last year. Anyways, I whipped up some fun invitations for the 2nd Annual Cousin Christmas Party I threw back in December. Yep, just now getting around to blogging about these invitations. Don’t give me crap about just getting around to blogging about these and I won’t give you crap for not knowing about my obsession with pretty paper, deal? I free handed the “2nd Annual Cousin Christmas Party” script with black paint and when it dried, I scanned it into my computer, and fixed it up with Adobe Illustrator. For the backs, I just created a quick file in photoshop. I printed everything out on card stock, assembled the fronts to POW gold paper, and the backs I cut out like a banner and stapled to red embossed paper. After adhering the two sides together, I put them in frosted envelopes, added some Christmas-y confetti and sealed the envelope with some washi tape and a gold heart sticker.
I love the look of the frosted envelope and the excitement the confetti adds to the invitation. Were invitations completely, 100% necessary? No, I could’ve just mass texted everyone and have been done with it, but it is ALWAYS fun to get HAPPY mail in the mail box. And what is more HAPPY than a confetti filled invitation?
