Some people might be turned off at the thought of a green smoothie (you know who you are), but by adding dark green leafy vegetables, you are only benefiting your self by giving your body beneficial nutrients it needs to function properly (in a yummy smoothie no less). And, the sweetness of the fruit overpowers any taste you might get from the vegetable.
Did you know that cruciferous vegetables (such as kale) can actually lower your risk of certain cancers? The beneficial phytochemicals, paired with the synergistic effect of the other nutrients in the vegetables, have been shown to combat the growth of cancer cells.
Ok, how much more proof do you need to run to your kitchen and make this smoothie right now?
