For the past couple of summers, Trav and I have made up a summer bucket list. It’s a fun way to get out, do or try new things, and have some fun during the summer months when I would be home from college for the summer. We would always say, “We should do that” or “We should go here” so we decided to complie it all into a list and call it our summer bucket list.
After the first year, we would roll over some of the things we didn’t get to in the previous year. We don’t stress about not crossing everything off of our list, and we occasionally will add things throughout summer to our list that we might’ve done, or plan to do throughout the summer. We don’t take it too serious, but we have a lot of fun putting it together and being able to cross things off.
T + E 2014 summer bucket list looks like this:
- Go camping
- Kayak
- Finish 3 new to us hikes
- Visit the fair
- Make homemade pesto from homegrown basil
- Go to the Rose Bowl flea market
- Have a picnic
- Go swimming
- Play laser tag
- Make homemade ice cream
- Finish Elise’s patio
- Host a Cousin’s brunch day
- Visit San Diego
- Eat fancy donuts
- Make horchata
- Try 3 new to us food places
- Slip N Slide
In the past, I would just jot down our list in the notes app on my iPhone, but this year, I decided to design a fun list to document our bucket list this year. It makes it so I can keep this for years to come and look back at what our summer looked like.

Summer already started, but it’s not too late to make a list of your own. Feel free to download my summer 2014 bucketlist graphic to make your own summer bucketlist. Be sure to share and tag me so I can see what your summer bucketlist looks like!
Don’t worry, I’ll be reporting back to what we did/didn’t mark off on our list. I’m sure I’ll be documenting our adventures over on Instagram too.
