We joke that we couldn’t elope and get married if we wanted to, because everyone that did attend our wedding would have shown up anyways. We are unbelievably lucky to have such close family and friends that were willing to make the trek out to Hawaii and share in our special day with us. It wouldn’t have been the same if we weren’t able to share our wedding day with all of these wonderful people. We love them all so much and are so grateful they are apart of our lives and relationship.

Travis’s mom, Susan, passed away from breast cancer 7 years ago; and I knew going into planning our wedding that I wanted to make her presence known. As a gift to Trav, I had a charm made with a picture of him and her, with a small quote on the back, for him to attach to his boutonniere (I got it from this shop on Etsy). For the mother-son dance, Trav went back and forth about what he wanted to do, or not do. But ultimately, he decided he wanted to dance with his aunts (on both his mom and dad’s side) to the song “Because you Loved Me” by Ceilne Dion. Ohmygosh, there was not a dry eye in the place.
It was important to us to incorporate our friends and family in our big day, aside from being them already there and sharing the day with us. One of the most important aspects was having family marry us. Trav’s cousin, Kuree, got ordained in the state of Hawaii just so she could marry us. She has been a big part of our relationship and I consider her a close friend, so it was a no brainer to have her up there with us. And Trav’s best man, Justin, was the Emcee for the night. Both did a fantastic job!
Our entire day would not have been as meaningful, if it weren’t for the people we shared it with. We love you all so so much! XO.
PS: I have a Google Drive of wedding pictures, if any family or friends are interested in downloading the full sized pictures, or seeing more 🙂
