Like any traditional wedding, we had our rehearsal the day before at our venue. Instead of having a rehearsal dinner, we did brunch with our immediate family, bridal party and significant others. It worked out that way because our venue only does rehearsals in the morning due to having events later in the day. But brunch is our favorite meal, so what better way to celebrate! And it gave us time to go to a Luau in the evening with the rest of our guests!

We had brunch at Mala Ocean Tavern. It was tough finding a restaurant that a.) was reasonably priced and b.) would accommodate our large party and c.) would take a reservation. I think “reserving a rehearsal brunch spot” was the last wedding item I crossed off my to do list. Guys, it was a close call. But! We couldn’t have been happier with the final decision. The views, service and food were all great!
Here are some scenes from the rehearsal and the rehearsal brunch.

Even though it was a destination wedding, we didn’t have an official “welcome party” because everyone came in on different days. We did have a small get together for happy hour with whoever was on the island at Down The Hatch on Tuesday (a rehearsal brunch contender). We still wanted to get together with everyone outside of the wedding so we decided on a Luau (when in Rome, right?). We made reservations at the Old Lahaina Luau months in advanced, and extended the invitation to all of our guests. The luau was a fun way to get everyone together and see everyone before the wedding. Highly recommend a luau if you’re having a destination wedding in Hawaii.
And our last picture together as a not married couple, the night before our wedding.
XO.
