Hey, Hi! Is this thing on? Welcome to my little space in the ever growing blog-o-sphere!
I’m Elise and I live in Southern California with my boyfriend of nine years, Travis, and our two cats (Kimi and Vettel; named after Formula 1 race car drivers). I’m a Registered Dietitian by trade, co-founder of an ecommerce business, and the director of food and nutrition at a local hospital. I enjoy a good DIY project, anything topped with avocado, traveling to new places, peanut butter, Friends reruns, rock concerts, brunch, and if you couldn’t tell by the name of our cats, motorsports.
This will be my third (and hopefully LAST!) blog that I create and start. My first ever blog was Love, Lisy which was mainly craft oriented. And then my second blog was named Peanut Butter and Pancakes after my favorite breakfast combination and had more momentum than Love, Lisy. Peanut Butter and Pancakes was mainly nutrition focused with travel and everyday blogging mixed in, but it didn’t work out well because 1. The name was too long 2. I started it in the middle of grad school and it was often neglected and 3. I wasn’t a fan of the platform that was hosting the blog. so I decided on a complete refresh, but before we get to that.. A lot has happened in the 2+ years since I took a blogging hiatus. The highlight reel includes:
-
- Graduating with my Masters in nutrition and passing boards to become a Registered Dietitian (woo! 6 years in the making!)
- Getting a big girl job as a clinical dietitian and then a year later being promoted to Director of Food and Nutrition.
- Traveling! Trav and I have been to New York, Boston, Nashville, Ohio, San Francisco, Texas, back to Zion to conquer the Narrows (read about the first time we went to Zion), San Diego, Palm Springs, Colorado, and Vegas too many times to count (for family and racing). –Stay tuned for a couple travel guides and videos from our recent traveling adventures!
- Growing EAT healthy designs! (Instagram, Facebook, Shop)
- And probably my favorite: Trav and I adopting another kitten: KIMI! Actually, she was born the litter after Vettel, from the same mom! #sistersfromdifferentmisters
So here we are, Nourished Bliss. A healthy lifestyle blog by me, Elise.
NOURISH (v) : to promote the growth of; to furnish or sustain | Synonyms: cultivate, foster, nurture
BLISS (n) : complete happiness; great joy |Synonyms: paradise, cloud nine
Sure, this space will have its fair share of food and nutrition related topics, but I don’t want to limit it to just that. I want to also include other topics that nourish my soul and bring me happiness. I want this blog to be a place where I can document my adventures, whether it be travel adventures, cooking adventures, adventures in business, adventures in cultivating a healthy lifestyle, or simply adventures in the everyday. I also want this space to be a resource for those looking for advice in nutrition or business. I don’t know it all, and I’m not going to pretend that I do, but I hope to share what I do know, or what I learn along the way (the good and the bad) here in this space.
I already have so many fun blog posts ready to share with you! Stay tuned for our travel adventures to Boston and New York (plus 2 posts on where we ate in each city and our travel videos!), my pantry staples from Trader Joes, the video of me surprising Travis with a trip to his first Formula 1 race for his 30th birthday, our adventures in Apple Picking, 24 hours in San Francisco, my go to recipe for roasting vegetables, and my 2018 goals and intentions (now that it’s February…).
I’m so glad you are here. I hope you follow along and find something that inspires you. This is my journey to Nourished Bliss.
All the love, Elise
PS: If you want to get acquainted with me and peak around at some blog posts I’ve written in the past, I brought over all the blog posts from Peanut Butter and Pancakes to archive on this blog.
Some of my favorites are:
- The year we decided to hike 100 different miles
- Tshirt quilts I made Trav and I out of his old racing shirts and my old cheer shirts
