This post will be all about the delicious food we ate in Jackson, Wyoming. You can find our Wyoming travel guide HERE, our Wyoming vlogs HERE, Wyoming photo diary HERE, and travel budget post HERE.
It’s no secret that we love traveling for the food (NY food, Boston food, Austin food, Maui food, Portland food). We love seeking out the best local eateries wherever we are. So here is what we found and ate while in Jackson, Wyoming! We stayed in Teton Village, and had a few meals here, but ventured over to Jackson town a few times for meals. I’ll indicate below where each one is. And as always, we didn’t get around to eating everywhere that was on our list – so I’ve listed other highly rated and recommended places at the bottom.
Here’s a link to my Yelp collection of places to eat in Jackson Hole (and a few in West Yellowstone if you venture up that way) that includes each place we visited, and then some that we didn’t get around to going to.
Persephone Bakery
An adorably decorated cafe with homemade baked goods. We are in. We loved that this cafe so much, we visited it twice while we were there. This particular one is halfway between Teton Village and Jackson – making it an easy stop for us on our way into town; although there is a Persephone bakery in the town of Jackson as well. It is on the pricier side, but the food, drinks, pastries, and service were all excellent!
Cowboy Coffee Co.
Advertised as a quick bite to eat right off of Jackson Square in the town of Jackson- heads up, don’t stop here if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat. While the premise fits the local and makes for a good photo op, I would pass on it otherwise. The service was extremely slow, and the drinks and food were mediocre at best.
Liberty Burger
Another restaurant right off of the town square in Jackson town. I opted for a grilled chicken sandwich, Trav ordered a burger and we split a side of sweet potato fries. They had an extensive milkshake menu that was very tempting as well. All in all, it was a good stop.
IL Villaggio Osteria
We made reservations here for dinner one night through Open Table. This restaurant is in Teton Village and was a quick walk from our hotel, which made it very convenient. Because it was the night before our 1 year wedding anniversary, they surprised us with champagne on the house. Our waiter was wonderful as well; he was originally from Austria but comes to Jackson during the summers to work – so we bonded over our love for Europe. We shared an arugula salad and the burrata side to start and split one of their homemade pasta entrees.
VISIT OSTERIA ITALIAN RESTAURANT
Gather
Upon checkin to our hotel on our first night, the front desk worker tipped us off that reservations for many restaurants in town are needed due to COVID restrictions and are only operating at 50% capacity. We scrambled to look for reservations in Jackson town on our anniversary night and few popped up. My first choice would’ve been Glorietta Trattoria, but they were booked up for the weekend. While Gather was not our first choice for our anniversary dinner, I’m glad we ended up coming. The food was beyond delicious – if they are offered you MUST save room for the fried donut holes for dessert. Gather is a couple blocks off of the town square in Jackson.
Teton Thai
After a long day visiting Yellowstone, we picked up take out Thai food to take back to our hotel and enjoy (well, and because of Coronavirus restrictions – they were doing take out only). This place is in Teton village, and while not the best Thai food we’ve had, it definitely hit the spot after a long day of exploring. There was enough leftovers for us to enjoy the next day too.
Hand Fire Pizza
Hand Fire Pizza is inside of an old theater in downtown Jackson, and was hands down one of the best meals of the trip. So simple, but so delicious and set inside such a cool venue. There was a little bit of a wait, but we put down our phone number and walked around the town square while waiting. I’m still drooling thinking about this pizza.
The Bunnery Bakery and Restaurant
We arrived before they opened, and there was a line already starting to form. We waited about 10 minutes for them to open and then we were seated right away. It’s typical diner menu food, but the pastries are well worth the wait and visit. We were stuffed from breakfast, but picked a couple pastries to take to go. The Bunnery is in Jackson town.
Moo’s Gourmet Ice Cream
While I love a good ice cream, man the service here was horrendous. I don’t know if they were just having an off day, but it was enough to leave a bad taste in our mouth. Travis ordered a certain flavor, and not more than 10 seconds later changed his mind before the lady behind the counter could scoop out some ice cream – she scoffed and rolled her eyes at the inconvenience. I’d give it another chance just because the ice cream was delicious and it’s conveniently set in downtown Jackson – we got our ice cream and walked over to the town square to sit and enjoy it.
Southcable Cafe
If you’re looking for your quick morning coffee and a small bite to eat in Teton Village – here is your place! There wasn’t much open by way of a quick breakfast in Teton Village, but this hit the spot. I loved that it was a quick walk from our hotel.
- Best Breakfast: Persephone Bakery
- Best Lunch: Handfire Pizza (I know we had this for dinner, but since we didn’t eat a lot of lunches out, I’m giving it to Handfire pizza, because it was delicious!)
- Best Dinner: Gather
- Best Dessert: Donut holes with dipping sauces at Gather

So there you have it – where we ate in Jackson! Something tells me we will be back sooner rather than later, which just means more time to try more places and venture back to some of our favorites!
